Pregnant sisters spontaneously deliver babies the same day... and more | Live Action

Arizona sisters who were pregnant at the same time went into labor on the same day, and delivered their babies at the same hospital.
Key Takeaways:Rylee Rumsey and Kayla Strickland became pregnant at the same time, and joked for months they would have their babies on the same day.
Their due dates were only one week apart.
On June 7, Rumsey went into labor, and Strickland followed a few hours later.
Both babies were born on the same day, in the same hospital, with the same doctor and medical team, and even weighed the exact same amount.
Sisters Rylee Rumsey and Kayla Strickland were both shocked and thrilled when they got pregnant at the same time. "When I called her, I was freaking out a little bit, like, hey, I'm pregnant, don't tell anyone," Rumsey recalled of telling her sister the good news. But Strickland, it turned out, was pregnant also.
The two sisters were able to bond throughout their pregnancies because they were at roughly the same gestation the entire time. “It’s like 4 a.m. and I need someone to talk to, I can just call or text her, take a picture, ‘Hey, does this look normal?’” Strickland said.

Instead, they went into labor just a few hours apart.
Zoom In:The sisters' mother, Stephanie, was shocked when the news came.
“Being with one of them where they’re pregnant at dinner and the other one calling me, saying, ‘Mom, I’m on my way to the hospital.’ The other one, an hour and a half later: ‘Mom, I’m in labor.’ Would have never ever, ever imagined that,” she said, even though that was exactly what ended up happening. “A lot of praying and a lot of back and forth, back and forth."
“I think it worked out perfectly because she had to be at the hospital one time, one place," Strickland said of her mother.
Both sisters went to Mercy Gilbert Medical Center on the same day in labor.
Both delivered baby boys, each weighing 8 pounds, 6 ounces, with the same doctor and medical team.
“Never did we think we would be, let alone pregnant at the same time, but then give birth on the same day within the same couple hours,” Strickland said.
The story made the sisters instant celebrities on the labor and delivery floor.
The Bottom Line:The heartwarming story shows an incredible coincidence that has led to a family memory that will be cherished for generations.
