Euphoria stars Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney's friendship has reportedly shattered - with claims Zendaya is now “refusing to stand next to” her co-star amid an off-screen political rift.

According to insiders on the HBO hit, tensions have boiled over following Sydney’s controversial American Eagle ad campaign and her alleged ties to the Republican Party.

The pair, who once praised each other publicly, are said to be avoiding joint interviews and photo ops for the upcoming season. The feud reportedly began in July, when Sydney fronted an American Eagle campaign carrying the tagline, "Sydney Sweeney has great jeans," with critics accusing the brand of echoing rhetoric around “eugenics” and white supremacy. It comes after Sweeney delivered a controversial 4-word message to her haters following another scandal.

One source has now told the Daily Mail, “It’s a difficult position for Zendaya to be in because if she even stands next to Sydney on the red carpet, it can be read as her excusing Sydney’s views on Trump and her refusal to apologize for the racist ad.”

The alleged feud came after several outlets reported that Sweeney is a registered Republican. While she has remained silent on her voting record, Donald Trump publicly declared his approval, saying, “Now I love her ad.”

Zendaya, 29, has long been outspoken against Trump. Following his 2016 win, she posted, “I’m speechless, petrified, heartbroken and weary. I don’t know what to say or what to do. I guess I just never knew how many people in this country didn’t love other people in this country.”

The political divide has reportedly driven a wedge between the co-stars after six years working side by side. However, Sydney has yet to clarify her political stance.

Until recently, they appeared close - with Sydney cheering Zendaya’s 2020 Emmy win, “We were all watching the Emmys because we were all crossing our fingers and we just freaked out. It’s so amazing, I’m very, very proud and excited for Z," the actress gushed.

She also told Access Hollywood, “It’s been amazing being able to watch her and just see how much of a boss-a-- she is.” Speaking to GQ, Sydney later called the jeans controversy a “surprise,” adding, “When I have an issue I want to speak about, people will hear.”

Trump went on to double down in a fiery Truth Social post praising Sweeney’s “HOTTEST ad” and railing against “woke” brands and singer Taylor Swift. American Eagle defended its campaign, insisting, “‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans’ is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story.”
