(DCNF)—Podcast host Joe Rogan on “The Joe Rogan Experience” Friday condemned Democrats for exploiting the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot to target President Donald Trump.

Democrats have constantly attacked Trump over the riot, even invoking it in response to the Sept. 10 assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. Rogan argued on his podcast that the riot was clearly portrayed unfairly and therefore it was unjustified to use against the president.

“[I]f you get accused of some sort of a heinous crime, the narrative for most people that are casual viewers of that story is that you’re a terrorist. Or you’re a guy who’s going to kidnap the governor, or you’re a guy who is an insurrectionist who’s trying to overthrow the government on January 6th,” Rogan said. “And then you watch the footage that they wouldn’t release during the trials and you see them getting a guided tour … the security guards are walking them into the Senate. Like, what the fuck? What is this? And why is no one outraged?”

“And why is it only one side that’s outraged? God, if I was a Democrat congressman or a senator, or if I was any sort of a politician on the other side, I’d be like, do you know how disgusting this is?” he added. “You’re using this to go after Donald Trump? Instead of just better political opposition?”

Previously unseen footage from the riot aired by Fox News in March 2023 showed officers apparently escorting the so-called “QAnon Shaman” through the halls of the Capitol building. Jacob Chansley was sentenced on Nov. 17, 2021, to 41 months in prison followed by 36 months of supervised release after he entered a plea deal for charges of civil disorder, obstruction of an official proceeding, entering and remaining in a restricted building and other charges pertaining to his participation in the riot.

Shortly after Fox News aired the footage, Rogan expressed outrage.

“They were leading him around — the cops were talking to him and hanging out with him,” Rogan said at the time. “They weren’t like arresting him immediately. It wasn’t like he was this violent guy who broke in and started smashing things and ‘fuck the government.’”

“They’re putting him in jail for four years, for going on a tour,” he said.

Chansley was released from prison and sent to a halfway house just weeks after.

Moreover, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries announced the return of the January 6th subcommittee on Sept. 8 featuring prominent Democrats.

“House Republicans are once again trying to rewrite history and corrupt our electoral system” Jeffries wrote in a press release. “House Democrats will continue to forcefully and aggressively push back, as we did with Donald Trump’s second impeachment and the work done by the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol.”

The FBI deployed 274 agents to the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, according to an after-action report obtained by Just The News, which the outlet reported on Sept. 25.
