Democrats Cling to Racism but Call it "Equity"

President Trump ordered agencies to end diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies in the federal government, contracting, and spending. Democrats focus on dividing people into racial categories and giving preferences based on race and gender, but Pres. Trump is ending it. Yet, Democrats resist letting go of their racist agendas and policies.
Some local governments, that receive federal funds, have chosen to set up a showdown with the Trump administration over equity. For instance, radical Leftists in Northern Virginia doubled down on their racist equity programs—disregarding Pres. Trump's executive order. Loudoun County Board of Supervisors adopted an "equity action plan" in early February—just days after the executive order was signed. They announced a plan to hire a "more diverse workforce"— Democrat speak for we have too many white men. The County Chair Phyllis Randall admitted in a recent meeting, "The goal is to cast a wider net to make sure that we are getting a diverse and highly qualified workforce, not a workforce that is one color or another.” That statement is a clear violation of civil rights laws against hiring based on race.
Equity is very different than equality. Equality desires for everyone to have the same opportunity to succeed. Equity seeks to control outcomes no matter the effort of the individual. Equity doesn't value merit and hard work—it's merely a Marxist ideal. Loudoun's equity policy admits they want to control outcomes, not just provide equal opportunity—that violates the executive order and potentially civil rights laws.

Racist Practices in Schools and the Tax-Exempt Teachers' Unions
Oxford defines racism as "the unfair treatment of people who belong to a different race." This happens every day in schools across America. When I was a school board member, nearly every presentation given to the board provided measurements of student performance by race. Employee hiring data was (and still is) also presented in racial categories.
Loudoun County Schools' Superintendent Aaron Spence is known for his focus on quotas and racist policies. When he was the leader of Virginia Beach schools, his DEI czar admitted the division's racist agenda publicly. LaQuiche Parrot asserted in a public meeting, "language you consider divisive is language we have to have a shared understanding around to become culturally competent," she went on to tell a School Board member, "we have to get to a place in Virginia Beach where our teachers and our leaders and our school board and our viewing public understand that when we talk about privilege . . . it's about acknowledging what it is, the rights that you have solely because of the color of your skin." When Parrot admitted her racism publicly, Spence didn't correct her. He continues to double down on his equity agenda in Loudoun.
Loudoun County Public Schools will spend $2.8 million on their equity office this year. They've declared they will ensure equal outcomes for all—an impossible task without manipulation. Not every child will achieve at the same level. Each person has unique abilities, and some will work harder than others. It's not the role of government to control outcomes but to provide opportunity.
School districts are being assisted by the nation's largest teachers' union, the National Education Association (NEA) which provides grants to further racist equity hiring and agendas. In 2023 the NEA gave the Arizona Education Association $250,000 to provide support to "educators that believe in racial & social justice." They also gave the North Carolina Association of Educators $675,000 to "actively recruit Black males and other students of color" to enroll in a high school program to become teachers.
Progressive teachers are also being identified and enabled at the collegiate level. The NEA provided nearly $600,000 in funding to the University of Maine to promote "social/racial justice professional development among early career PK-12 educators." The Arizona Education Association, with help from the NEA, has a program that focuses on "retention for educators of color." These are blatant examples of discrimination based on race.
The Trump Administration Should Enforce Equal Application of the Law
The Supreme Court established that organizations receiving tax-exempt status "must serve a public purpose and not be contrary to established public policy." The court ruled that schools with racially discriminatory policies did not qualify for tax exempt status.
The Justice Department should investigate organizations who refuse to abide by civil rights laws and use taxpayer dollars to discriminate. The Internal Revenue Service should also investigate the discriminatory practices of tax-exempt organizations like the NEA who use public benefits to promote racist practices. President Trump's executive order is a step in the right direction.
