Watch: Trump Throws Caution to the Wind, Lets It Rip at the UN General Assembly With Hilarious Results

President Donald Trump arrived at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, and it wasn't long before he took the podium and let it rip. Speaking to a room full of dictators, thugs, and Eurotrash leaders (but I repeat myself), Trump began by essentially calling the UN building a dump before moving on to more pressing issues, though he kept the same justifiably defiant energy throughout.

According to the president, he was put on an escalator that failed halfway up, and as he got ready to start his speech, the teleprompter went out. Of course, Trump has never been one who relies on a teleprompter to tell people how he really feels.

TRUMP: All I got from the United Nations was an escalator that, on the way up, stopped right in the middle. If the First Lady wasn't in great shape, she would have fallen, but she's in great shape. We're both in good shape (laughter), we both stood, and then a teleprompter that didn't work. These are the two things I got from the United Nations. A bad escalator and a bad teleprompter. Thank you very much.
The laughs from the audience quickly died out, though. Trump launched into a critique of the UN itself, noting its pathetic failure to prevent global conflicts, which is ostensibly the entire reason for its existence.
.@POTUS is NOT taking it easy on the UN.
"The U.N. has tremendous potential...but it's not even coming close to living up to that potential.
All they seem to do is write...empty words. And empty words don't solve war.
The only thing that solves war is action."

I actually disagree with Trump there. I don't think the UN has tremendous potential. I think it's a dumpster fire of an institution that serves no purpose but to advance the interests of America's adversaries. The less centralization in the world, the better, especially when that centralization is continually used to destroy, not uplift Western civilization and the Judeo-Christian values that undergird it. There's no redemption arc for an organization that puts China, Afghanistan, Venezuela, and Cuba on its "Human Rights Council."

When it came to Russia's war on Ukraine, Trump didn't mince words either. He went directly at NATO members that continue to buy oil from Russia, essentially funding Vladimir Putin's war effort.
🚨NOW — @POTUS RIPS on NATO for continuing to purchase Russian oil.
"INEXCUSABLY, even NATO countries haven't cut off much Russian oil & energy products...
...Think...they're funding a war against themselves. Who the HELL's ever heard of that one?" pic.twitter.com/u6eTscRBWF

It's an insane dynamic. You've got European nations going to Kyiv to hug Volodymyr Zelensky for the cameras, only to then go home and send hundreds of millions of dollars to Russia for energy. All the while, the United States has the capacity to replace those imports with American oil and natural gas. Virtue signaling doesn't stop wars, and that's all the Eurotrash seem to be interested in.
Speaking of virtue signaling, Trump addressed the recent spate of European nations recognizing a "Palestinian state," even as Hamas continues to hold hostages and refuses to surrender.
🚨@POTUS condemns a Palestinian State & demands Hamas RELEASE hostages NOW.
"This body is seeking to unilaterally recognize a Palestinian state. That reward would be too great for Hamas terrorists.
Those who want peace should be united under ONE message: RELEASE THE HOSTAGES!" pic.twitter.com/FqZviiQ1ao

The soft-spined heads of the UK, France, and elsewhere have done nothing but prolong the conflict by bending the knee to terrorists. Meanwhile, their own countries are being overwhelmed with Muslim migrants who have no intention of assimilating. It's sad to watch Europe self-destruct in such a way, but it's also well deserved. Even now, leaders like Keir Starmer are running an extensive crackdown on free speech while coddling Islamism, and the results remain predictable.

Still, Trump implored them to change course. They won't listen, but it was worth a shot, I guess.
TRUMP: It's time to end the failed experiment of open borders. You have to end it now. See, I can tell you, I'm really good at this stuff. Your countries are going to hell.
The president went on to trash so-called "renewable energy" before making fun of Europe for its inability to do basic math when it comes to their stupid, self-defeating energy policies.
Trump: The United States is now thriving like never before. We're getting rid of the falsely named renewables. They are a joke. They don't work. The wind doesn't blow. Windmills are so pathetic and so bad.

😂LOL!
"Europe reduced its carbon footprint by 37%.
Congratulations, Europe, great job!
Cost yourself a lot of jobs & factories, BUT you reduced the carbon footprint by 37%!
However, all of that sacrifice, has been totally wiped out & then some by a global increase of 54%." pic.twitter.com/WxA7KME6wh

Going in a bit of a different direction, the rise in persecution of Christians was also brought up.
🚨TRUMP: Christianity is the MOST PERSECUTED religion in the world:

That's something you'll never hear from the United Nations, which ignores Christian suffering around the world to pretend the "Palestinians" are the only people who exist. In places like Nigeria and the Congo (and increasingly, in Syria), Christians are being slaughtered by the tens of thousands. The UN can't even bother to bat an eye while they pass their umpteenth condemnation of Israel. Good for Trump for bringing that up and drawing much-needed attention to it.
He also hit on his war against the drug cartels, pledging to continue destroying drug boats that try to breach American waters, before getting to his closing remarks.
.@POTUS: "To every terrorist thug smuggling poisonous drugs into the United States of America, please be warned — we will blow you out of existence." pic.twitter.com/x0zzpluxRt

President Trump: "In closing, I just want to repeat that immigration and the high cost of so-called Green energy is destroying a large part of the free world. Countries that cherish freedom are fading fast because of their policies on these two subjects." pic.twitter.com/sB8FlN5et4

It was a barnburner of a speech that pulled no punches, and no doubt, we'll hear wailing and gnashing from the left (and some on the "right") that Trump went in guns blazing. To that I say, who cares? The UN is a useless, ineffective, harmful dump that needs to be disbanded, not coddled. Certainly, it shouldn't continue to receive American taxpayer money.
