That MRI Trump Had? It Never Happened.

The anti-Trumpers were in full froth over news that President Donald Trump had undergone an MRI for a routine medical exam in October. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans produce images of the organs and structures inside the body, and are usually given when a specific problem is reported, so the chattering classes flooded social media with dark theories.

“Trump has dementia!” “Trump had an aneurysm!” “Trump is close to death!” Blah blah blah. The Left quickly leaned into full-throated conspiracies, even though they spent four years ignoring the decline of former President Joe Biden, who can no longer even say the word “America” correctly.

On Thursday, however, the president revealed in an interview that he misspoke:
For weeks, President Donald Trump has said that he received an MRI at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in October, but when asked about the procedure by the Wall Street Journal in an interview published Thursday, Trump and his doctor said that he actually got a CT scan instead.
"It wasn’t an MRI," Trump told the Journal. “It was less than that. It was a scan.”
The WSJ reported that he had a CT scan, but podcaster Dr. Drew Pinsky says even that doesn't tell the whole story:
…Pinsky said the Journal's depiction of his CT scan was "ignorant," saying the use of the CT scan machine was for a heart calcium test.
"A level of ignorance is displayed here that is so typical of the press," Pinsky said.
"It's full of nuance and ignorance. It's disgusting."
Pinsky said Trump had a coronary calcium score, which is done with a CT scanner.
"It's a way of determining whether there's calcium in the arteries of the coronaries, the arteries of the heart," Pinsky said.

Meanwhile, the mainstream press is already back on the "Trump Is Dying" narrative for the New Year, with some major outlets framing his age in ominous tones:

Expect much more of that from the press corps that ignored Joe Biden wandering incoherently around the White House corridors for four years.
Trump fired back on Truth Social Friday, claiming he was in excellent health:

It's true that if the administration had cleared this up earlier, a lot of the frothing at the mouth media speculation would have been nipped in the bud, something Trump acknowledged:
Although the advanced imaging was taken as a preventative measure, according to the White House and [Trump’s doctor Sean] Barbabella, Trump told the Wall Street Journal that he now regrets getting it done, saying in the interview that it's being used as “ammunition” against him.
"In retrospect, it’s too bad I took it because it gave them a little ammunition. I would have been a lot better off if they didn’t, because the fact that I took it said, ‘Oh gee, is something wrong?’ Well, nothing’s wrong,” Trump said.
However, even if the White House had clarified the procedure, his opponents would have simply moved on to some other "Trump has one foot in the grave" scenario. The latest lib parlor game, for instance, seems to involve obsessing over bruises on his hands and whether he takes too much aspirin.

The health of the president of the United States of America is of legitimate interest to the public, and it's fair to ask no-nonsense questions. But one can't help but be reminded with every new breathless report: Where were you people when we had an obviously, visibly, right-in-our-face example of a commander-in-chief who was severely compromised and virtually unable to perform his duties? You were hiding in the bushes.
It remains, in my mind, the Scandal of the Century.
Editor's Note: The mainstream media continues to deflect, gaslight, spin, and lie about President Trump, his administration, and conservatives.
