Muslims Reject Christian Prayer House in Indonesia - International Christian Concern

On June 24, a group of Muslims attacked a prayer house in the Hegarmanah Indah Housing Complex in West Java, Indonesia, demanding that it be closed.
The violent mob attacked several members of the church behind the prayer house and threatened to burn the gathering place down.
The developer of the housing complex in Bandung Regency, Rev. Marudut, explained that since the complex’s construction began, he had donated his private land for use as a place of worship. He had twice donated private land for the construction of a mosque. Until then, life among the residents had been harmonious and uneventful, but this unrest only began to emerge after the change in the head of the local neighborhood association.
Rev. Marudut explained that the construction of the prayer house was initiated after the number of Christians in the housing complex continued to grow.
According to records from various monitoring institutions, including the SETARA Institute, West Java has consistently been the province with the highest number of violations of freedom of religion and belief in Indonesia in recent years.
