Two dead as plane crashes in California desert

Two people have been killed after a small plane crashed in the California desert.

The aircraft went down Thursday morning in Hesperia, north of Lake Arrowhead, before medics rushed to the scene.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said the incident happened off Summit Valley Road, with dramatic photos showing the front of the plane smashed in.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
