A shop known for selling $50 hand soaps filled with chaos and shards of glass after a car smashed through its front doors.

A Honda Element drove through the front of the Aēsop store on Larchmont Boulevard Monday morning, causing the window to shatter and metal window frame to collapse onto the vehicle.

Social media showed the stunned female driver, wearing glasses and a striped bucket hat still sitting in the vehicle’s driver’s seat seconds after the crash. Shoppers and pedestrians stood around the wreck in disbelief.

Witnesses to the crash directed the driver to turn off her car and surrender her keys, they told the Larcmont Buzz.

First responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department and LAPD were on scene within minutes to seal off the area with police tape and prevent any injuries to pedestrians from the shattered glass.

The driver was not believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and investigators found no indication that a mental health crisis played a role in the incident, an LAPD spokesperson told The California Post.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Officers said everyone involved was able to exchange information at the scene and the crash remains under investigation — it’s not yet known what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

While the car crash caused visible damage to the high-end store, the extent of the damage has not been released.
