US in active pursuit of oil tanker near Venezuela

The U.S. Coast Guard is pursuing a sanctioned "dark fleet vessel" near Venezuela on Sunday.
Seizing it would mark the third time an oil tanker has been taken by the U.S. in the region.
"The United States Coast Guard is in active pursuit of a sanctioned 'dark fleet' vessel that is part of Venezuela's illegal sanctions evasion," a U.S. official said, according to Reuters. "It is flying a false flag and under a judicial seizure order."
President Trump has stepped up pressure on Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro by targeting drug boats and illegal shipments.
