Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado on Friday dedicated her Nobel Peace Prize to President Donald Trump and his support for her cause after the Nobel Committee again declined to bestow Trump himself with the award.

"This recognition of the struggle of all Venezuelans is a boost to conclude our task: to conquer Freedom," she posted on X.
"We are on the threshold of victory and today, more than ever, we count on President Trump, the people of the United States, the peoples of Latin America, and the democratic nations of the world as our principal allies to achieve Freedom and democracy."

"I dedicate this prize to the suffering people of Venezuela and to President Trump for his decisive support of our cause!" she declared.

Trump has openly lobbied for the award for many years and he has earned several nominations. This year alone, he has claimed credit for ending the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, the Israel-Gaza War, the Rwanda and Congo War, and a brief conflict between India and Pakistan.

Corina Machado's dedication was not out of the blue either, as the Trump administration has worked to pressure the Maduro government in Venezuela and to crack down on its drug trafficking efforts.
