A Ryanair flight was forced to make an emergency landing after a window dislodged on the Boeing 737 aircraft, injuring a passenger who was seated next to it.
The plane had taken off from Thessaloniki Airport in Greece early Friday. When it reached an altitude of 16,000 feet, pilots turned the plane around, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Video of the incident posted on Malta Today shows passengers wearing oxygen masks as wind whips through the cabin. The video pans over to show a passenger sitting next to the opened window with a shattered screen.
The passenger is a 61-year-old Serbian national, according to the Journal. He had been wearing his seatbelt when the window flew off, and he was partly sucked through the opening. The man's wife held onto him by his legs, and with help from other passengers, she was able to pull him back inside the cabin.
The man survived and was met by emergency responders at the airport.
