A lightning strike in Fort Meyers Beach, Florida, killed a man and three family members on Friday.
First responders were dispatched to the scene, and when they arrived, they found one individual unresponsive, NBC News reported.
Three others were transported to the hospital. All four people were in the ocean when the lightning struck, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
A bystander had used an automatic external defibrillator and was performing CPR on the man when emergency crews arrived, but efforts were unsuccessful.
The man was later identified as Viktar Kiryk, 51. The three other people injured were members of Kiryk's family, and they are in stable condition.
