FBI Director Patel planning trip to Russia: report

FBI Director Kash Patel is planning to travel to Russia later this year, in what will be an unusual visit.
The visit is expected to take place on Oct. 14–15. He will first stop in Moscow and then continue on to St. Petersberg, Politco reported, citing unnamed sources.
The host will likely be the FSB, the Russian security service that followed the Soviet-era KGB.
It's not clear if Patel will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin or his senior political aides, or what discussions Patel will have with those he meets.
Robert Mueller, whose official visit was in 2013, was the last FBI director known to have visited Russia.
