Geraldo Rivera spoke out against President Donald Trump and the GOP’s “groupthink” regarding elections.

Rivera said Trump had “made liars” of the “entire” Republican Party and the GOP’s “groupthink” had undermined its credibility when he was part of Wednesday’s “CNN NewsNight” panel.

Earlier Wednesday, Trump reveled in what he called a “BIG NIGHT FOR MAGA,” touting a perfect “7-0” record after every Republican candidate he endorsed in Arizona’s primary elections won Tuesday.

The panel was discussing the significance of Trump’s endorsements.

MeidasTouch host Dina Doll commented three individuals running in the state and backed by the president were “election deniers.”

Commentator Tara Setmayer noted the results reflected a broader strategy heading into future elections.

Donald Trump is coming for our elections in the midterms and setting it up for 2028. We know this. He’s telegraphing it,” she said.

“And this is another example of him doing that by endorsing candidates that do not believe in free and fair elections and relitigating 2020 and conspiracy theories,” Setmayer added.

Rivera, who has described himself as a Republican, is a former Trump ally.

He shifted the conversation away from future elections and toward what he called the party’s ongoing inability to answer a basic question about the 2020 presidential race.

“The one thing about talking about the future and projecting what‘s going to happen is that we tend to then neglect what is. To me, the biggest story, political story, how Donald Trump, the president of the United States, has made liars of the entire Republican Party,” Rivera said. “He has.”

“When you ask a straight-honest question, ‘Who won the election?’ If they can‘t answer that question, then everything else they‘re saying is BS,” Rivera continued.

“I just think that when the groupthink… it‘s like they‘ve all had a-” he before adding, “And I‘m a Republican!”
