A senior government official told the outlet that Starmer is realizing that the “game is up” and the leader is thinking about ways to “shore up his legacy."

One Labor MP that is an ally to Starmer said that he believed the Prime Minister could announce his resignation as soon as Monday.

“There’s no one left. Literally people whose relatives work in No 10 or people who are long term personal friends of Keir’s are pretty much the only ones left,” the MP added.

Another government official told the Telegraph that “something will have happened by the end of the wee” and that the Uk government “could end up in mass resignation territory.”

One MP who was backing Starmer just last month told the outlet that he was “a goner.”

A senior government official said there has been "quite a bit of movement" with Cabinet Ministers after Andy Burnham’s Makerfield election win.

The MP that had backed Starmer just recently commented, "Andy can do it without a contest, he’s got a good story, and is better for building a broad coalition come a general election.” Another ally to Starmer said to The Sun, “I think there is just a 25 percent chance he fights on now."

The report comes after the release of the gang rape inquiry, which stated that Starmer was the Director of Public Prosecutions, there were "13,000 suspected rape gang members and paedophiles ... let off with warning letters."
