Talarico Teams With O'Rourke to Woo Drag Queens

Texas Democrats sure know how to pick their candidates.

Having struck oil when their efforts to find the most Texan man ever gave them Beto O'Rourke, they doubled down on drilling in the same area, and this time their efforts have resulted in a real gusher: James Talarico.

Now, Powered By People, an organization whose name must send a thrill down the back of every Real Man™ Texan, is bringing the two together in what will surely be a stoppable drive to win Texas for the Democratic Senate candidate.

Drag queens are well known to be a key swing-voting demographic, so it makes sense to focus efforts on getting them out. Not to mention that, as Drag Queens go, so go the ranchers.

Talarico already has the Christian vote locked up, being a pastor himself. He has a deep understanding of how other Christians think, and everybody expects that, since his opponent, Ken Paxton, is a womanizer, he will sweep that demographic.

James talarico says Islam and Christianity are "equal pathways to truth.""I always think of all the world's faith traditions as a circle, with that divine mystery of the universe in the middle. We all have different names for that mystery, whether it's God or Yahweh or Allah or Nirvana or Great Spirit. Whatever you call it, this is all different pathways to the same fundamental truth." #TXsen

He's also extraordinarily adept at making his arguments for unlimited abortions and transing children relatable to most people, although there is early evidence that his efforts to promote veganism might have been a bit of a dud.

Few people are as adept at bringing people together on what are usually controversial issues that have been driving people apart.

It shows that if you are Powered by People, you can do anything!

I think it's his willingness to adopt the "20" side of every 80-20 issue that impresses people so much. It takes real courage to tell them they are Christofascists because everything they believe is wrong. Democrats have found the key to persuasion, obviously.

Texas Democrats didn't follow the lead of the Maine party in choosing a hypermasculine, in all the worst ways, "working man." They chose to go the other direction by finding a candidate with the opposite affect of Graham Platner. Instead of choosing the abuser with violent fantasies and an admitted love of killing people, they knew that nothing would play better in Texas than a soy boy worried about his white privilege.

Talarico comes across as far more genuine than Platner.

No doubt the focus on drag queens will pay off in November. Not only will Talarico sweep that demographic, but I'm willing to bet that once this voting bloc is activated, they will serve as vital recruiters of other blocs that will deliver a landslide in the fall.

Maybe Beto can become his Chief of Staff in D.C.?

Surely he will, as long as he plays well with his "neighbors with a uterus."
