WNBA Head Coach Suspended For Playoff Game After Creating Outright Wild Scene

Cheryl was ready to brawl! Get ’em, Cheryl! (LMAO)
When it came to the regular season, the Minnesota Lynx dominated the campaign being on top of the WNBA standings. With that being said, they’re clinging for life in the playoffs. They’re currently down 2-1 in a semifinal series against the Phoenix Mercury.
They’ll have to get things done without their skipper though. (RELATED: All Hell Breaks Loose At Ryder Cup As Players Shout At Each Other, Fans Brawl In Grandstand)
In the last few minutes of a Game 3 defeat, Minnesota head coach Cheryl Reeve … how can I put this? … on a referee for not slapping a foul against an opponent. Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas stole the ball from Lynx guard Napheesa Collier, and the latter ended up falling to the court following their knees colliding.
Reeve believed that the collision was a foul on Thomas’ part, and when one wasn’t called, she exploded. And it’s a wild scene.

Though the scene is entertaining to watch, Reeve had no justification whatsoever considering how there wasn’t a foul on the play. Thomas managed to get the ball out of Collier’s hands without any contact being made. What happened after the fact had nothing to do with Thomas.
NBA referees even said the same thing on their official Twitter account.
This is NOT a foul. Thomas legally gets to the ball and knocks the ball loose prior to any contact. The leg to leg contact is incidental once the ball is clearly loose. This was correctly judged in real time as a no call as were the subsequent technical fouls. pic.twitter.com/kdImDRwsNe

But none of that stopped Reeve from crashing out on the zebras, stating that the WNBA needs to switch things up when it comes to their officiating.while speaking in her postgame press conference.
“I want to call for a change of leadership at the league level when it comes to officiating,” saying that the refereeing was “f*cking malpractice.”

And that’s what ultimately led us to Reeve being suspended by the WNBA for Game 4 … insane stuff.
