Surveillance Video Shows ICE Agents Guiding Detainees To Safety During Deadly Shooting

Newly released surveillance footage shows Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents ushering detainees to safety during the fatal shooting at a Dallas, Texas, ICE facility Wednesday.
The video, obtained by Fox News’ Brooke Taylor, shows ICE agents and detainees taking cover behind the hood of a van before bolting into the facility. The agents subsequently herded the detainees into the building.
The detainees’ arms and legs were cuffed together, the footage shows. (RELATED: FBI Deployed Nearly 300 Agents On Jan 6 As ‘Pawns In A Political War’)
The agents guided the detainees to safety once inside the building. Law enforcement eventually left the building with their weapons drawn to confront the threat.

Officials told Taylor that they “hope people will see that the agents were heroic, clearly willing to risk their lives to save the detainees, rather than focus on dangerous anti-ICE rhetoric.”
“I’ve spoken with sources who are agents at the field office, and they say they’re upset, devastated, and frustrated that the public can’t see they are just doing their jobs and protecting the community,” Taylor said.
The alleged shooter was identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, who was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to authorities. He allegedly wrote “anti-ICE” on a bullet casing, officials stated.
Jahn allegedly shot three victims, and two died, officials stated at a Wednesday press conference. No law enforcement officers were injured during the attack, according to FBI Dallas Special Agent in Charge Joseph Rothrock.
“If your political rhetoric encourages violence against law enforcement, you can go straight to hell, and you have no place in the political conversation of the United States of America,” Vice President JD Vance stated after the attack.
