Major League Baseball icon Roger Clemens took part in an interview on Fox News’ “The Will Cain Show” to speak about several topics, with the highlight being the political assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Cain started things off by discussing what Kirk meant to Clemens’ family, which led to Roger revealing that he wasn’t knowledgeable about the Turning Point USA founder until he was shown videos of him by his children, branding Kirk a “beast.” (RELATED: Browns Honor Charlie Kirk Ahead Of Game Against Packers)

“Charlie was, he would take the microphone and set it down when he’s done saying his piece so he could listen to the questions that, uh, the young kids, the older people were asking him questions,” said Clemens.

“And I thought that was a really cool mannerism, that he would always set that microphone down. So he paid attention and listened to detail, so he could answer questions from both sides, whatever side it was. Like I said, I watched so many videos of him now and just appreciate the man.”

Clemens compared the style from Kirk to baseball, stating that he “makes everybody around” him a better individual.

“Again, a baseball reference will, when you have somebody like Charlie, uh, on your team, he makes everybody around you better. And that’s what you look for,” said Clemens.

“You look for traits in a person. From that, and again, my boys, I have four young men, they turn me onto it. They’re very versed in a lot of subjects, not just the sports field, but, uh, what goes on in politics. So it’s been a joy to have to, to be able to talk to them about it.”
