REPORT: Teacher Arrested For Allegedly Having Sex With Child

Virginia authorities recently arrested a teacher for allegedly having sex with a child, officials told a local outlet.
Katelin Campbell faces charges of taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial relationship and consensual intercourse with or by a child age 15 or more, officials told WSET. Campbell, 34, taught English to seventh through 12th graders at C.H. Friend School for the past year, headmistress Dana Jones confirmed to the outlet.
Jones said the accusation was brought to her in the last month, though she could not confirm if the child involved attended the school. The Commonwealth Attorney indicated the victim was male. Jones told WSET she informed police of the allegation, and Campbell’s employment at the school was subsequently ended.

The headmistress addressed how the school approached the allegation. “We chose integrity instead of it being swept under the rug. Scripture is very clear that if it was done in the dark it was going to be brought to light,” she said.
“We understand that taking it to the police department, it was going to come shine a light on to us. We took what we were told to them and let them carry on with their investigation,” Jones told WSET.
C.H. Friend School is a “K3-12 School that focuses on the individual needs of each child while instilling Christian value,” according to its website. The school is located in South Boston, Virginia. (RELATED: Parents Report Their 7-Month-Old Baby Missing. Now They’re Not Cooperating, Police Say)
