New York Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe has been struggling as of late, and it ended up leading to a New York Mets fan trash-talking him Sunday just before a Subway Series game between the two in Queens.

Michael, the father of Volpe, happened to overhear the fan, and he absolutely erupted on him in response.

Prior to “God Bless America” being sung at Citi Field, a game that saw the Yankees get a 6-4 victory against the Mets, Michael was seen on video losing his mind on a Metropolitans fan during a break between innings. In the footage, it appears that his daughter Olivia attempted to hold him back, but Michael had already lost his cool at that point. It’s not known what the Mets fan said.

“Let’s go!” shouted Michael to the Mets fan several times in a TikTok video that’s now going viral.

“Bad mouthing my son! F*ck you! F*ck you!” shouted Michael to the Mets supporter.

It’s been a struggle for Volpe in recent games, going 1-of-11 in the series between the Yankees and Mets. His only hit came Saturday, which was a home run in a 12-6 Mets victory that saw them clinch the series following a win the night before.

Just another day in New York as far as I’m concerned, especially when it comes to baseball.
