The man who tried to put Benjamin Netanyahu in handcuffs for defending his people just lost his own job over allegations of non-consensual sex with a junior staffer. Karim Khan, the International Criminal Court’s chief prosecutor, was removed Friday by a vote of the court’s member states. Eighty-two of 125 nations decided he had to go. It is the first time in the ICC’s history that a sitting chief prosecutor has been tossed out.

Khan denies everything. His lawyers call the process a sham. But the woman who accused him went public last week on CNN. She described escalating advances, power imbalance so severe that consent was impossible, and incidents in his office, his home, and on work trips. The court’s own oversight body concluded he committed serious misconduct and a serious breach of duty.

This is the same Karim Khan who, in November 2024, requested arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and then-Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The ICC judges granted them. Israel and the United States, neither of which belongs to this court, called it political theater from the start. Now the man behind those warrants has been fired for alleged sexual predation inside his own office.

Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon did not hold back. “Karim Khan believed that by launching a political witch hunt against Israel and issuing a politically-motivated arrest warrant against Prime Minister Netanyahu, the world would ignore the grave sexual misconduct allegations against him. He was wrong.” Danon added that the same cynical game will not protect New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani either.

Mamdani made the ICC warrant a campaign centerpiece. He promised to arrest Netanyahu if the Israeli leader set foot in New York. Once in office he admitted the city has no such power and pivoted to demanding the federal government do it instead. The warrants remain on the books. The ICC insists Khan’s removal does not erase them. But the stench around the man who requested them is now impossible to ignore.

Anne Bayefsky of Human Rights Voices put the timing in sharp relief. Khan requested the warrants against Israel within weeks of learning his alleged misconduct had been exposed. He later suggested the victim was somehow tied to Mossad. That is the level of seriousness we are dealing with from the world’s self-appointed moral tribune.

The allegations first surfaced years ago. Khan stepped aside in May 2025 while a United Nations investigation ran. He was formally suspended in June 2026. A three-judge panel looked at the UN findings and said they did not meet the beyond-a-reasonable-doubt standard for misconduct. The Assembly of States Parties still voted him out. His legal team says he was denied a proper chance to be heard. More than 180 NGOs and lawyers had raised due process alarms. None of that stopped the vote.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has already declared that the United States will work to dismantle the ICC brick by brick. America’s sovereignty is not up for negotiation by a court that never had jurisdiction over us in the first place. Watching that same court now fire its own top prosecutor for personal scandal only confirms what many conservatives have said for years: this institution is selective, politicized, and increasingly hollow.

Scripture is clear about the kind of leaders who claim the high ground while living in the low places. “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess” (Matthew 23:25).

The ICC spent years polishing its image as the guardian of international justice. Inside, its chief prosecutor faced charges that would end most careers in any serious institution.

Khan’s removal does not magically restore the court’s legitimacy. The warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant still hang there, products of a process now stained by the personal failings of the man who drove it. Israel continues to fight a war forced upon it by Hamas terrorists who still hold hostages and still celebrate the slaughter of October 7. The left’s favorite international body just proved once again that its moral lectures land with a thud.

True justice does not come from unelected prosecutors in The Hague chasing headlines against the Jewish state while their own house is on fire. It comes from sovereign nations defending their people, from courts that answer to actual citizens, and from a standard that applies equally to the powerful and the obscure. The ICC failed that test. Karim Khan is gone. The damage he helped inflict remains.
