LONDON — Amid controversy stemming from the latest high-profile stabbing incident that took the life of a British citizen, Prime Minister Keir Starmer warned the United Kingdom about the rise of murdererphobia.

While the populace has grown increasingly concerned about the ongoing trend of violent incidents plaguing the nation, Starmer strongly urged the British people to resist the temptation to fall into an irrational fear of being murdered in the street by migrants.

"We mustn't let the fear of being murdered rule our lives," Starmer said in an address to the people. "Many people live with crippling fear every day — fear of heights, fear of spiders, fear of being senselessly butchered to death by a knife-wielding Muslim — all of them completely unfounded. We have to stand firm and not allow our desire not to be murdered affect us in our daily lives. That would be the true tragedy. As opposed to the stabbings and murders."

Though many Brits had been expressing a heightened feeling of fear at the thought of being stabbed to death in their own neighborhoods, Starmer stressed that this remained at least somewhat unlikely. "There simply isn't anything to be afraid of," he said. "Are there stabbings? Certainly. Are innocent people being slaughtered left and right in our cities? Of course. But this shouldn't lead people to be afraid of being stabbed and slaughtered. Is there a decent chance it will happen? Potentially. But don't be afraid of it. That's poppycock."

At publishing time, twelve more people had been viciously stabbed to death in the UK.
